Banquet:
19:00 – 21:00 on October 2 in the Rembrandt Hall of Hotel Europe
The banquet will be in a buffet style in principle, but we will reserve 3 round tables/30 seats for guests. The menu will include Western food, Japanese food, and dessert, and there will be various beverages, such as beer, sake, wine, shochu, and whisky, etc. A number of the hotel’s specialty dishes, as well as special vegetarian menus, will also be served.
The medium-sized screen in the venue will show videos of the 60 years of JOCS history, commemorative lecture for the 60th anniversary (September 30), welcome party (September 30), commemorative ceremony (October 1), scenes from research presentations, tour records, poster venues, etc. For the attraction, there will be a presentation of “Snake Dance”, which is an ancient dance in Nagasaki. We hope that exchanges, goodwill, partnerships, joint research, etc. among invited lecturers, research presenters, participants, and escorts will expansively produce results.
Although the above event has no direct connection with the WCOS2012, it will be held in the Palace Huis Ten Bosch at Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, the venue of WCOS2012, between September 29 and October 8. With the theme of “Flowers, Greenery and A Prayer for Peace and Restoration,” the event will be participated by 27 groups of gardeners, the largest number ever, from various places around the world who will compete in gardening in a spectacular manner. Moreover, the “Visionary art Gogh exhibition,” exhibiting 52 works of Vincent van Gogh, a Dutch painter, is being held in the Huis Ten Bosch Art Museum.
